Why did you choose the company that you work for?
I applied at FCCU because of the interaction I’ve had with the staff. I chose FCCU because I believe it is valuable to work with a strong team and my interview showed me that the marketing team at FCCU relies on each other to market the products and services in the most effective manner.
What were some of the requirements for your internship?
I assist the team with a variety of marketing tasks. This includes updating electronic signs for the branches, assisting with graphics for newspapers, social media and print material, helping with Instagram reels and more.
What is your favorite part about your internship experience, so far?
I have really enjoyed working on a variety of projects. Particularly working with the various Adobe products to create graphics. At the same time, creating reels are really fun too.
How did you find your internship?
My professor at the University of Jamestown put me in contact with an FCCU staff member about an internship in a different department. After talking with him, we both recognized that I wanted something with marketing and he mentioned that FCCU was looking for a marketing intern.
What advice would you give a student who is in the process of applying to an internship?
My advice would be to apply to as many internships as you can and when you get an interview, be confident and be yourself.
