First Community Credit Union is proud to announce the recent hire and promotion of two Market Presidents in Grand Forks and Fargo.

Derek Holt, the new Grand Forks Market President, is a graduate of Concordia College, and has more than 20 years of financial services and agriculture lending experience. Born and raised on a farm in small town eastern, South Dakota, Derek’s love for agriculture and business began at a young age. To this day, his parents still farm and ranch, which has instilled strong, hardworking values as well as a strong understanding of what it takes to run an agriculture operation.

He says, “working with business owners, farmers and community partners is something I look forward to every day.” Married to his talented and creative wife Kayla, together they have 3 children. They love spending time together as a family on the lake, operating vacation rental properties, and watching sports especially cheering on the UND Fighting Hawks. In his free time, Derek enjoys hunting, spending time with family, and watching and playing sports especially football, basketball and baseball.  He also loves harvest time and says there is “nothing better than being in the field in the fall.”

Chris Howell, the new Fargo Market President has been employed with FCCU since 2017, as an Commercial Lender. Originally from Alexandria, MN, Chris holds his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Concordia College. He began his career in the financial services industry in 2001. His favorite part about his job is working with staff and business members to help them achieve their goals. When he’s not working, Chris enjoys golfing, traveling, fishing, watching Minnesota sport teams, and spending time at the lake. Chris is married to his wife and together they have three kids in college and two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels.
