FCCU To Hold Fundraisers for Alzheimer's Association

02/03/2022

During each quarter of 2022, FCCU will hold fundraisers for a different worthy organization. The first quarter fundraising cause, as chosen by FCCU staff, is senior support. All funds raised will go to benefit the Minnesota-North Dakota Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, with a portion of funds going to local senior centers.

Alzheimer’s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common form of dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease. It's an overall term that describes a group of symptoms. More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. Unfortunately, 1 in 3 seniors die from Alzheimer's or another dementia, that's more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. In addition to fundraising, FCCU wants to bring awareness of Alzheimer's.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, care, support and research. The Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter, started in 1979, is one of seven founding chapters of the national Alzheimer’s Association.
