FCCU Receives 2026 Wellness Innovator Award

First Community Credit Union has been named a recipient of the 2026 Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Wellness Innovator Award, honoring the credit union's commitment to employee well-being through its Live Well, Be Well program.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND created the Wellness Innovator Award to help recognize organizations that are making a meaningful impact on employee well-being. This award celebrates employers that prioritize physical, emotional, and mental health through innovative programs, supportive policies, and a culture of well-being.

FCCU was awarded at the 2026 ND SHRM Annual Conference on September 24, and again at the 2026 BCBSND Worksite Wellness Summit on September 28.

FCCU launched its ‘Live Well, Be Well' program in 2022 after recognizing the importance of supporting employees in all areas of their lives. Throughout the year, employees have opportunities to participate in challenges and activities, attend educational presentations, access resources and receive information designed to support their overall well-being.

"Life can be challenging, both personally and professionally, and we want our employees to know that FCCU is here to support them," said Tracey Thompson, Human Resources Business Partner and Live Well, Be Well Project Team Lead at FCCU. "Whether it's through a fun quarterly challenge, an informative presentation, a program or simply sharing resources and information, we want to provide support for our employees wherever they are on their well-being journey."

For Thompson, leading the Live Well, Be Well program is also a way to put FCCU's core value of Community: People Helping People into action.

"I am the Human Resources Business Partner for Payroll at First Community Credit Union. However, I am also the Project Team Lead of our Live Well, Be Well Program, which allows me the opportunity to fulfill one of our core values of ‘Community: People Helping People,' one that I value and hold near and dear to my heart," Thompson said.

Amie Aesoph, Chief Human Resources Officer at FCCU, said the program reflects the organization's broader commitment to its employees.

"Live Well, Be Well is so much more than a wellness program; it's a reflection of how deeply FCCU cares about our employees as people," Aesoph said. "When our employees feel supported, valued and empowered to take care of themselves, they are better able to thrive both personally and professionally."

Aesoph also recognized Thompson's role in developing and leading the program.

"Tracey has been instrumental in bringing that philosophy to life. Her genuine passion, dedication and the way she truly cares about the well-being of our employees make this program so meaningful. We are incredibly fortunate to have someone like Tracey championing this important work," Aesoph said.

The Wellness Innovator Award recognizes the work FCCU has done to make employees well-being an ongoing part of its workplace culture. Through ‘Live Well, Be Well', FCCU continues to look for practical and engaging ways to support its employees and live out its commitment to People Helping People.

Congratulations to our HR Team on this well deserved award.
