We're excited to announce FCCU staff recently held our third annual Day of Service. The FCCU Day of Service was created as a way to give staff the opportunity work together to exemplify our brand promise, "Life is Better with Community" and also our core value of commitment to community.

With nearly all of FCCU's employees volunteering, more than 250 combined staff hours were accumulated during this time. “It was inspiring to see all the hard work, local connections, staff engagement and variety of activities across our locations.” said Susan Long Swen, Senior Event & Community Engagement Specialist.

The 2025 Day of Service focused on supporting children and youth, in alignment with our first charity cause of the year. School and youth volunteer activities included:

• Cleaning the Page School Café
• Craft time with a class in Napoleon
• Savings presentation to 1^st graders in Wishek
• Setting up and helping with Kindred High School Chalkfest
• Sponsoring concessions at a Hankinson softball game
• Story time and crafts with Crookston elementary students
• Assisting with lunch and story time in Larimore
• Speaking to high school seniors on careers and story time with elementary students in Devils Lake
• Decorating flowerpots and planting flowers with kindergarteners in Lakota
• Story time at a daycare center in St. John
• Serving lunch at St. Mary’s school in Breckenridge as well as volunteering at Field Day in Wahpeton

Additional community efforts included:

• Volunteering at Tornado Watch in Oakes, a donation-supported organization that helps local children and families in need
• Assisting with the ABLE Games in Fargo, an inclusive fitness competition for athletes of all abilities
• Helping to serve a free meal open to the community at the Bismarck Dream Center’s ‘The Banquet’
• Facilitating a free youth sports gear swap in Milnor
• Organizing a Little Free Library and book drive in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks
