Two FCCU Employees Named to Bismarck's Top 20 Under 40 List

08/03/2022

We're proud to announce FCCU’s very own Zack Dosch, President of the Bismarck-Mandan Market, and Katie Nehl, Communications Manager, were both named to Bismarck-Mandan Chamber EDC’s inaugural 20 Under 40 List.  Those on this list are the top business professionals across the Bismarck-Mandan, under the age of 40.

Zack Dosch
Originally from Bismarck, ND, attended the University of Mary for his undergraduate degrees in business and finance and received his MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He began working at FCCU as the VP of the Bismarck Market in 2017 and has been an integral part in growing the Bismarck Market. In his spare time, Zack is involved in Ministry on the Margins, is a color commentator for high school and college basketball games, enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife and kids and also is a foster parent.

What Motivates Him: "Serving our members and employees, and watching them reach their goals. For me, it’s all about the people and the process.”

Advice for other Young Professionals: “Focus on the people in the company, rather than the company. Put yourself in situations that are uncomfortable, but will force you to grow and develop the traits that any successful person has, like being a hard worker, good listener and clear communicator.”

Katie Nehl
Born and raised on a ranch near Richardton, ND, Katie Nehl received her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Advertising from North Dakota State University. Katie began working at FCCU in 2013 as a Marketing Specialist, where she worked in her role for three years, before leaving briefly to work at the Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) as their Vice-President of Communications. In 2018, she returned to FCCU to work in her current role, as Communications Manager. In her spare time, Katie is heavily involved in the community being on the Young Professionals Board of Directors, the DakCU Foundation Board, University of Mary Leadership Mentoring Program, church choir group and more. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and son outside roping, riding horses, rodeoing and barrel racing.

What Motivates Her: “I’ve had a lot of role models and leaders who have changed my life in more ways than I can count. They helped me grow, showed me kindness and how to be a leader. The thought of being that leader for someone else, that motivates me. I can only hope to be a role model and a leader for others in both our company and the community, someday. Additionally, my parents were huge role models in being a leading example in teaching me the importance of hard work and volunteerism; a huge motivation of mine is to teach our son the same values."

Advice to other young professionals: “Integrity and hard work, are everything. Be true to yourself, own your mistakes and be willing to learn from them and learn from others. It can seem really intimidating when you’re first starting out and don’t have a lot of experience, but everybody starts somewhere. Step outside your comfort zone, meet new people, give back to your community and finally, be kind to everyone you meet. You never know how that new connection you make can help you within your career path or change your life.”

Congratulations, Zack and Katie on your well-deserved honor of being named to Bismarck-Mandan’s 20 Under 40 list. We're proud to have you on our team.
