FCCU Awards Record $67,000 in Scholarships to 26 High School Seniors

First Community Credit Union (FCCU) proudly announces it will be awarding a record $67,000 in college scholarships this year to 26 graduating high school seniors.

FCCU and its Board of Directors are honored to provide 13 multi-year scholarships valued at $5,000 or $2,500 to the following students to use toward their college academia: Holland Fitterer, Bismarck, Zachary Clark of Hankinson, Emma Erdahl of Colfax, Zahn Gisinger of Bismarck, Leah Trumbauer of Jamestown,  Levi Buchholz of Fredonia, Miryah Epema of Crookston, Kate Gramlow of Oakes, Chloe Ferber of Fargo, Jaxon Hill of Wahpeton, Kamden Herzig of Jamestown, Carlee Skadsem of Devils Lake and Blade Leitch of Breckenridge.

In addition, we are honored to provide 13 other single-year $1,000 scholarships to the following students:

Samantha McHarry of Oakes, Erin Guariglia of Bottineau, Emma Bixby of Milnor, Halle Lein of Gwinner, Ellie Sadler of Moorhead, Ivy Graber of Rolette, Kennison Azure of Portland, Sebastian Olson of East Grand Forks, Cianna Fanta of Steele, Abby Ryun of Woodworth, Alicia Foss of Hatton, Kyren Brahos of Fargo, and Maddie Gefroh of Cleveland. FCCU is also proud to announce Abby Ryun of Woodworth was also chosen as the winner of the best essay, winning a $250 Visa gift card.

Over the past 29 years, FCCU has given out more than $760,000 in scholarships. The Board of Directors recognizes the importance of young people receiving a good education and wants to encourage young people to do their best. FCCU continues to do its part in providing incentives to help students reach their full potential. In 2014, First Community Credit Union created a program that supports our dedication to area communities by reinvesting in youth. FCCU donated $1 million into a scholarship foundation to provide additional scholarship dollars to graduating high school students. The earnings from the foundation go to fund scholarship opportunities for members of the Credit Union for years to come.
