FCCU Awards Record $72,500 in Scholarships to 28 High School Seniors

First Community Credit Union (FCCU) proudly announces it will be awarding a record $72,500 in college scholarships this year to 28 graduating high school seniors.

FCCU and its Board of Directors are honored to provide 14 multi-year scholarships to the following students to use toward their college academia: Lillian Dybing of Fargo, Ellie Horner of Bismarck, Hallie Besette of Tower City, Bentley Solem of Bismarck, Kyla Moen of Larimore, Olivia Koehler of Hankinson, McKinley Moen of Larimore, Emily Senger of Rolla, Corbyn Powell of Valley City, Isabelle Morowski of Portland, William Klawitter of Euclid, Eva Weigel of Napoleon, Rainielle Briones of Devils Lake, and Helen Nelson of Halstad.

In addition, we are honored to provide 14 single-year $1,250 scholarships to the following students: Malory Kemp of Cavalier, Lily Grafstrom of Moorhead, Jacey Brynjulson of Grand Forks, Matthew Holm of Valley City, Elizabeth Pinke of Northwood, Brynn Sorenson of Buchanan, Maddox Cline of Oakes, Ashley Haas of Leonard, Hudson Zerface of Hope, Cheyenne Bowen of Adrian, Brooke Grzadzielewski of Grand Forks, Lilia Rexin of West Fargo, Camden Wiest of Wishek, and Allison Throlson of Bismarck. FCCU is also proud to announce Ameen Salih of Moorhead was chosen as the winner of the best essay, winning a $250 Visa gift card.

Over the past 30 years, FCCU has given out more than $830,000 in scholarships. The Board of Directors recognizes the importance of young people receiving a good education and wants to encourage young people to do their best. FCCU continues to do its part in providing incentives to help students reach their full potential. In 2014, First Community Credit Union created a program that supports our dedication to area communities by reinvesting in youth. FCCU donated $1 million into a scholarship foundation to provide additional scholarship dollars to graduating high school students. The earnings from the foundation go to fund scholarship opportunities for members of the Credit Union for years to come.
